Family. Friendly. Service.
Heritage Home of Florence began when Sherwin D. Welch and his wife Mildred made it a priority to care for the oldest members of the local community. They founded Heritage Home in 1974 with a simple mission: deliver high-quality care to older adults while treating them, and their families, with dignity and respect. As their reputation grew, so did their facility. What began as a small, 40-bed nursing home has grown into a 132-bed facility offering a full range of short-term rehab and long-term care services. With Cheraw Healthcare, a sister site serving Chesterfield County, an additional 120 patients can receive care.
Through the growth and expansion, Heritage Home has remained family owned and operated. And its commitment to delivering high-quality care and family-friendly service has never faltered. That’s why the facility consistently earns four stars on the Five Star Quality Ratings provided by Medicare, which evaluates nursing homes based on three sources of data: health inspections, staffing and quality measures. We invite you to see Heritage Home for yourself. When you do, we’re confident you’ll find a home away from home, a place where your loved one can receive great care, meet new friends, and feel comfortable and secure.
